INNOVATION DRIVES FNB’S 17-YEAR GROWTH JOURNEY IN ZAMBIA

First National Bank (FNB) Zambia says innovation has been at the centre of its 17-year growth in the country.

Speaking to Journalists on the sidelines of the Bank’s annual Wine Festival in Lusaka, Chief Executive Officer Kapumpe Chola said innovation has helped FNB grow into one of Zambia’s leading financial institutions since opening its doors in April 2009.

“We brought in quite a lot of innovation into the country, and we continue to innovate in the way we service our clients,” She stated. We started with e-wallets before there was mobile wallets.”

Ms.  Chola stated that the bank has also expanded accessibility through its CashPlus agency network and its mobile “Bank on Wheels” service, which reaches customers in different parts of the country.

She added that the mobile banking unit, known as Max, was currently stationed in Luanshya while branch refurbishments are being carried out.

“We have now reached 25 branches across the entire country serving 400, 000 clients. We are represented in eight of the ten provinces by branch footprint, but we have CashPlus agencies across all the ten provinces of Zambia,” Ms. Chola added.

Ms. Chola further stated that the bank provides services across major sectors of the economy, including farming, mining, manufacturing and government.

She also stressed that through the FNB Foundation, the bank also supports communities through water and sanitation projects, visual arts initiatives and early childhood learning programmes.

Ms. Chola thanked Zambians for supporting the bank over the past 17 years and reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the country.

“We plan to be here for another 17 and many more years, because FNB is in Zambia to grow the Zambian economy and to help build and uplift lives,” she assured.
