Lusaka City Council (LCC) says steady progress has been recorded on the construction of a new medicine storage facility at Kalingalinga Clinic in Munali Constituency, with the project currently at 35 percent completion.
The project, valued at approximately K1.1 million is being implemented by Wadlis Construction Company and funded through the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
LCC Public Relations Manager, Chola Mwamba, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the construction works commenced recently and are advancing according to schedule.
“Currently, the project stands at 35% completion, and the scope of work includes substructure works, superstructure, finishes, and other related construction activities,” Ms. Mwamba stated.
She explained that once completed, the facility will help address the shortage of adequate medical storage space at the clinic, which has long faced challenges in managing essential drugs and supplies.
“Upon completion, the facility will address the current shortage of adequate medical storage space at the health center,” she added.
Ms. Mwamba reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure across the city, emphasizing that such initiatives are key to improving public health outcomes.
“The Lusaka City Council remains committed to improving healthcare infrastructure for the benefit of all residents,” Ms. Mwamba said.
The new medicine storage facility is expected to be completed within the project timeline and will significantly strengthen the clinic’s capacity to store and manage pharmaceutical supplies safely and effectively, thereby contributing to improved healthcare service delivery for the community.
