Bank Backs Girls’ Education With K92,500 Donation

Standard Chartered Zambia has donated K92,500 to The Great Achievers Network to support underprivileged and vulnerable girls with essential school supplies and enhance their access to quality education.

The Great Achievers Network will apply the donation towards the provision of basic school supplies for identified beneficiaries.

Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Lusaka, Bank Chief Executive Officer Sonny Zulu, said the partnership reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that address practical barriers to education and create opportunities for young people to progress.

Mr. Zulu noted that education is one of the strongest foundations for individual progress and community development.

“However, the lack of basic school materials can prevent vulnerable learners from participating fully in school. Through this contribution, we hope to help more Zambian girls to continue their 2026 school calendar with dignity, confidence and the tools they need to learn,” he said.

He stated that the Bank values partnerships that respond to clear community needs and can create positive, lasting impact.

“We are pleased to support The Great Achievers Network in its work to expand educational opportunity for vulnerable girls. This initiative is a practical expression of our ‘Here for good’ brand promise and our commitment to the communities where we operate,” Mr. Zulu added.

Mr. Zulu reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to seeking meaningful partnerships that contribute to sustainable community development and help people realist their potential.
