OYDC Zambia has bid farewell to rising taekwondo athlete Chriss Kajila, who has departed for Wuxi, China, to compete in the 27th edition of the World Taekwondo Championships scheduled to run from 24 to 30 October 2025.
Kajila, who will compete in the –54 kg category, carries Zambia’s hopes at the global stage, marking another proud milestone for the Teulings Youth Sports League, which has been instrumental in developing young athletes through OYDC’s grassroots programs.
During the send-off ceremony, OYDC Zambia management and coaches encouraged Kajila to compete with confidence and determination, urging him to “fly the Zambian flag high.”
His coach, Japhet Simwinga, expressed optimism about Kajila’s readiness for the challenge.
“Chriss is very ready to compete at this world stage. His training and discipline have been outstanding, and we are confident he will perform well. We sincerely thank OYDC Zambia and the Teulings Youth Sports League for nurturing and developing young talent like Chriss,” Simwinga said.
Kajila’s participation in the global competition reflects the success of OYDC’s and the Teulings Foundation’s commitment to providing young athletes with international exposure.
The young fighter’s journey from the OYDC mats to the world stage stands as a shining example of how the Teulings Youth League continues to transform grassroots potential into international success — reinforcing Zambia’s growing footprint in global sports development.
