Centre for Future Generation has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable development through sanitation, hygiene, and health programmes.
To demonstrate its commitment, the organization has since supported Mansa Municipal Council with 25 waste bins under the Bloomberg-supported project, and has also helped unblock 10 kilometres of drainages in the district to improve sanitation.
CFG Executive Director, Gilbert Kalombo emphasized the impact of the initiatives, which aim to empower communities with knowledge and resources to demand better services.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kalombo said the organization, with support from USAID, has trained 185 village head persons in water, sanitation, and hygiene, focusing on Community-Led Total Sanitation in Muchinga Province.
“245 community members have been trained in social accountability to encourage them to advocate for improved water and sanitation services.”
“CFG has reached over 400,000 community members with information on improved WASH services through radio programmes and drama performances,” Mr. Kalombo said.
He also noted that 12 community-based organizations have been trained in advocacy and are actively pushing for improved service delivery.
Mr Kalombo added that the organisation is also supporting women, youth, and persons with disabilities in governance participation.
